Please join Dr. Todd Sweda, Associate Director of Accreditation, on February 12, 2025 from 6-7:30pm ET for his virtual presentation, “The Governance Playbook: A Practical Guide for Secondary School Boards.”
The presentation is part of the Catholic School Board Development Series, which is free and has been offering sessions since 2021 for Catholic school board chairpersons, administrators, board members, and superintendents seeking ways to improve board and governance practices in their schools.
This year’s series includes seven free presentations spanning the entirety of the spring semester and is a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning more about how to run an effective school board.
Dr. Sweda’s session will examine the overarching principles of secondary school board governance within the context of Catholic education and mission effectiveness. He will review the essential work of identifying, onboarding, and training trustees along with deploying these volunteers within an operating structure steeped in best practices. Attention will also be given to the critical role of the chairperson and the evaluation of board performance.
“The development of Catholic school boards into effective, strategic, and generative governance structures is critical to the long-term sustainability and vitality of our Catholic schools,” shared Dr. Sweda.
