From September 11-12, 2022, the ITCE’s Directors of Accreditation, Daryl Hagan, Ed.D. and Andrew Kremer, Ph.D., joined a group of New England superintendents for their annual New England Chief Administrators of Catholic Education (CACE) gathering hosted by the Diocese of Portland, Maine, in Wells, Maine. The two-day retreat was an opportunity for the superintendents to gather, learn, and share experiences. Other attendees included education administrators from all the dioceses in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Dr. Hagan and Dr. Kremer were invited to join the group to share information on ITCE’s programs and resources. “I appreciated the opportunity to share the good news of the Institute with our colleagues from New England and appreciated their generous hospitality,” Dr. Hagan remarked. Their presentation included an update and overview of the new K-12 Catholic School Accreditation program as well as information about Insight, the first Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) professional development program for K-12 Catholic school educators that the ITCE released in August. Dr. Kremer added that, “There was excellent dialogue regarding hopes for Catholic accreditation in New England and great enthusiasm for the accreditation program that will be offered by The Catholic University of America.”
The ITCE looks forward to future opportunities to present their plans for the Program of Accreditation which will support K-12 Catholic schools in their mission to form future generations of Catholic students.
