ITCE is delighted to announce the release of our own Dr. Daryl Hagan’s first book, Communion and Community: 46 Ways to Engage Catholic School Faculty and Staff During the School Year.
Dr. Hagan’s book provides activities to be used by Catholic school principals to create a deeper sense of belonging among their staff. He also includes helpful guidelines for running an effective faculty meeting. The book is meant to be accessible to both new and seasoned leaders, with activities organized by type for each season of the school year and with options for customizing the activities to an individual community.
Dr. Hagan’s doctoral dissertation, Catholic School Faculty Meetings: A Case Study Linking Catholic Identity, School Improvement, and Teacher Engagement, provides the foundation of the book, which is also the culmination of 35+ years of experience running faculty and staff meetings – Dr. Hagan has used every single activity in the book!
On why he wrote Communion and Community, Dr. Hagan shares, “My research and lived experiences have taught me the importance of bringing everyone together for a common mission. My book is a useful tool for anyone that wants to build trust and collaboration with their team.”
