Dr. Todd Sweda, Program Specialist Catholic Board Formation, leads ITCE’s work in strengthening Catholic school governance through intentional board formation that integrates mission, leadership, and strategic vision. By equipping board members with the tools to lead faithfully and effectively, his approach helps ensure long-term vitality and alignment with Catholic identity.

“Strong boards don’t happen by chance, they are formed through clarity of mission, purposeful development, and a shared commitment to stewardship,” says Dr. Sweda.

Dr. Sweda is currently collaborating with several (arch)dioceses to develop customized board formation opportunities inclusive of video development and board formation workshops/retreats. These tailored resources and programs provide Catholic school leaders and board members with accessible, mission-centered formation that reflects the unique context, governance structures, and strategic priorities of each diocese.
