It is fitting in this teacher appreciation week to announce a partnership between ITCE and the Archdiocese of Chicago. ITCE’s teacher formation program, How Do I Know My School is Catholic? will be offered during the 2024-2025 school year as part of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Catholic Identity Professional Development program for ongoing teacher, staff, and leader formation. Dr. Hagan will facilitate the program on three days built within the archdiocesan school calendar.
Inspired by the Vatican document “The Identity of the Catholic School for a Culture of Dialogue” (2022), this series provides a vision of education and formation rooted in Christ that inspires and promotes the spiritual, intellectual, cultural, and operational characteristics of a distinctly Catholic school. Participants will learn distinctive markers of a mission focused Catholic school and be introduced to resources and practices to deepen Catholic identity in the school and grade level classrooms.
“Empowering Catholic educators to nurture both hearts and minds, our teacher formation program instills a profound understanding of Catholic culture within a school,” said Dr. Hagan. “It fosters compassionate teachers who illuminate the path of faith in the classroom and beyond.”
If you would like to learn more about this program and bring the program to your school or diocese, please email us at itce@cua.edu. Thank you to the Archdiocese of Chicago and to all teachers in Catholic schools!
