Lumen Accreditation is proud to announce the launch of an Early Learning Level for programs across the country.
Dr. Andrew Kremer, Director of the National Program of Accreditation, shared, “We are excited to introduce Lumen Early Learning Accreditation. We are grateful to the many Catholic educators who shared their gifts and talents to help us develop a distinctly Catholic early learning accreditation process that integrates seamlessly with the K–12 Lumen process.”
Early learning programs that pursue Lumen Early Learning Accreditation will follow the same phases and many of the same processes used in Lumen’s K-12 Accreditation. In addition, they will implement Lumen’s Early Learning Indicators of Practice – tailored specifically to the requirements, expectations, and unique needs of early learning centers. These indicators encompass the spiritual, intellectual, operational, and cultural dimensions of early learning programs.
Dr. Todd Sweda, Associate Director of the National Program of Accreditation, explains, “The Early Learning Indicators of Practice were developed through research into best practices in early childhood education and intentionally designed to integrate Catholic identity and culture.”
The Early Learning Level of Lumen Accreditation is already being implemented in several states, including Minnesota, Kansas, and Louisiana. If you are interested in learning more or bringing Lumen Accreditation to your diocese or school, please contact us. We look forward to continuing to serve our nation’s schools and early learning centers.
